Since its founding in 1996, EDSF has experienced significant growth and change in promoting the role of document communications in society. We thank those of you who believe and share in our vision and for your support during these formative years.

Through responsive philanthropy and industry involvement, EDSF promotes education and research to benefit the industry and to prepare the next generation of professionals. The Foundation serves as a vehicle for document users, partners, suppliers and academia to advance the public's understanding of the value of this medium in all its evolving forms.

At the heart of the Foundation's mission are efforts to ensure that our industry worldwide has the talent it needs to survive, grow and excel. This commitment is realized through our scholarship program and the Excellence in Education Awards. Only with a continuous supply of outstanding professionals will our industry be able to maintain its valuable role in business and in society.

As a primary resource for industry knowledge, EDSF commissions leading-edge research to spot trends that could impact our marketplace. The Foundation sponsors a research grant/mentor program that involves professors and students in the research process. Academic institutions worldwide have an opportunity to submit grant proposals, either individually or in partnership with leading research firms.

We are pleased to partner with well-respected research firms DocuLabs, Gartner and InfoTrends. These industry consultants collaborate with professor/student teams to produce timely and informative research under an innovative co-branding research program.
