Chair

Quincy L. Allen

Xerox Corporation

 

Quincy L. Allen is president of the Production Systems Group at Xerox Corporation. He was named to this position in October 2004. He was named as a corporate vice president in December 2004.

Since joining Xerox as an electrical engineer in 1982, he has held senior technical and management positions in areas such as supply chain, sales and marketing, and product development. In 1999, Allen was appointed vice president, Worldwide Customer Services Strategy. In 2001, he was named senior vice president of North American Services and Solutions. He also served as senior vice president in Xerox Business Group Operations.

Allen earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in 1982 and an MBA from the University of Rochester in 1993. He is a board member of Greater Rochester Enterprise, WXXI Public Broadcasting Council, Gateway Inc. and the University of Notre Dame advisory committee. Allen has been a member of EDSF since 2004.

Don Lowe is the president and CEO of Franchise Services, Inc. and the CEO of Sir Speedy, Inc. Lowe joined Sir Speedy in April of 1981 as president until September 1996. Under his leadership, Sir Speedy, Inc. grew from 320 printing centers and network sales of $50 million to more than 700 printing, copying and document management centers with combined annual sales of more than $400 million. Lowe also plays an active role in the printing industry and has been a member of the EDSF board of directors since 1999. Prior to Sir Speedy, Lowe served as senior vice president for Kampgrounds of America, Inc.

Mr. Pike was promoted to his current position at Canon U.S.A., Inc. in May 1999 after three years with Canon Canada, where he headed the company's Imaging Systems Group. Before joining Canon Canada, Mr. Pike spent three years with MCS Business Solutions, Inc. (now Canon Business Solutions East, Inc.). He joined MCS as executive vice president in 1993, and was promoted to president in January 1995.

Prior to joining MCS, Mr. Pike spent 16 years with Xerox in a variety of sales and management positions. He graduated from Bucknell University with a B.S. degree in Management. He has been a member of EDSF since 2004.

Wolfgang Pfizenmaier
Heidelberg Americas, Inc. (ret.)

Born in Germany, Wolfgang Pfizenmaier studied Mechanical engineering at Darmstadt University and took his first job as a design engineer for sheetfed presses at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG in 1974. His responsibilities with Heidelberge expanded over the years. His roles on the Management Board included leadership of Research and Development, Manufacturing and Production, and Chairmanship of Heidelberg Web Press. Pfizenmaier served as CEO of Heidelberg Digital L.L.C. and the Chairman of the Board for NexPress Solutions. Currently Wolfgang is Senior Vice President of Heidelberg Americas, Inc.

Pfizenmaier has been a member of the EDSF board of directors since 2000 and a member of the Executive committee since 2002.

Joel Cartun is the Founder and Vice Chairman of Vestcom International a leading provider of specialized in-store marketing communications. Joel started Vestcom in 1996 and brought it public in 1997 by merging his company, Comvestrix, and six other digital printing service companies. Vestcom acquired 8 additional companies before it went private in 2002. Joel is an active angel investor and serves as head of the advisory board of Remote Play, a company that develops and markets wireless products and networks.

Joel Cartun was a founder of XPLOR and also serves on the board of ACG NJ. He received a BS and Masters Degree in Mathematics from Brooklyn College of the City University of NY. Joel has been a member of the EDSF Board of Directors since 1999.

Carl Frappaolo is Executive Vice President and co-founder of Delphi Group, a Perot Systems company. Frappaolo has over 25 years of experience working with a broad array of business solutions including knowledge and content management, portals, search engines, document management, workflow, BPM, records management, imaging, intranets and electronic document databases.

Mr. Frappaolo is the creator of Delphi's Knowledge Management Methodology (KM2), Portal Design and Development Methodology (PDDM), e-learning methodology (ELM) Stair-Step and TBA design methodologies. Mr. Frappaolo has been recognized by AIIM International as a Master of Information Technology and as an Information Systems Laureate, and in 2000, was bestowed the Distinguished Service Award by AIIM.

Mr. Frappaolo has authored over 300 studies on the technology and practices of e-business, portals, Knowledge Management and Electronic Document Management and is the author of four books. He has been an EDSF Director since 2000.

Malkon "Mal" Baboyian

Malkon S. Baboyian was named President of the Digital Document Systems (DDS) division of Océ North America in December 2003. Mal's responsibilities include sales and marketing for DDS as well as running the service and technical support functions for all of Océ North America.

Mal was named Chief Operating Officer of Océ-USA, Inc. in April of 2000 and Chief Executive Officer in December of 2002. As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Baboyian is responsible for all aspects of the Océ-USA business activities including the marketing, sales and service of the full line of Wide Format and Display Graphics equipment, related software and services and Imaging Supplies products, as well as the finance, business administration and human resources functions. Mal joined Océ in March of 1976 as a District Sales Manager in Washington, D.C. for Océ Industries, the predecessor company to Océ North America and filled a number of sales management roles in addition to being named Group Vice President of Design Engineering with responsibilities including the Imaging Supplies business unit.

He has an Economics degree from the University of Maryland.
 

Fred Rosenzweig

Mr. Rosenzweig was appointed President of EFI in 2000. Originally hired as Director of Manufacturing, Mr. Rosenzweig is currently responsible for managing an efficient, cost-effective course for EFI products from production to market. His direction includes all areas that might potentially impact EFI's revenue and growth including manufacturing, sales, distribution, and technical support. Before joining EFI he was a plant general manager at Tandem Computers Corporation. Mr. Rosenzweig holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.

Brenda Kai

 

Brenda Kai joined EDSF in September 2007, and became the Executive Director January 1, 2008. Kai is responsible for the Foundation’s administration, governance, industry development and award and scholarship programs. She is also charged with strategic planning, marketing and fundraising development, which drives EDSF programs.

Prior to EDSF, Kai was vice president of marketing at Docucorp International, a technology company specializing in Customer Communication Management solutions. Kai also held senior management positions at eCosmetic.com and TIG Insurance Company. Kai received her BA from the University of New Mexico.
